Effective April 2024, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has mandated that Business Correspondent Agents (BCAs) must undergo training before appearing for the BC Certification Examination. BCAs will need to complete 28 hours of training for Basic Certification and 42 hours for Advanced Certification. Only candidates who have completed the training successfully will be eligible for the BC/BF examination.
The following institutes have been authorized to conduct training for BC/BF:
- Bankers Institute of Rural Development (BIRD)
- National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD), Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MoSDE)
- Indian Institute of Bank Management (IIBM)
- Banks may also provide training to BCAs, following the training structure and modules designed by the Coordination Committee.
- It is important to note that no other institute or organization is permitted to impart training to BCs/BFs.
